Genimex’ Quick Guide to CNY 2019

What Does the Year of the Pig Mean?

The Year of the Pig symbolizes wealth and prosperity, and to make sure you’re entering the first quarter of the New Year in a position to “reap the benefits,” several preparations should be in play. First, know that the Chinese New Year begins on February 4th, 2019, and officially ends on February 10th. In reality, many Chinese manufacturing facilities and shipping ports shut down for 3 to 4 weeks to give their employees enough time to travel to their hometowns for the celebration.

You may already be aware that the Chinese New Year festivities extend beyond China’s borders. Southeast Asian countries with significant Chinese populations (such as Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines) will also experience slowdowns in manufacturing plants and ports, as well as delays in engineering and design services.

Order Fulfillment Should Be Your Top Priority

Genimex has navigated the Chinese New Year for nearly five decades. We have honed our strategy to ensure our partners have the inventory they need to minimize the impact of the Chinese New Year slowdown on their businesses.  In preparation, Genimex works with its customers on order purchasing and production planning to ensure deliveries meet first-quarter inventory requirements.  Whether that’s delivering parts for a device or finished items that need to arrive packaged and ready to ship before the upcoming holiday, Genimex has it covered.
