In reality, many Chinese manufacturing facilities and shipping ports shut down for 3 to 4 weeks to give their employees enough time to travel to their hometowns for the celebration.

Southeast Asian countries with significant Chinese populations (such as Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines) will also experience slowdowns in manufacturing plants and ports, as well as delays in engineering and design services.
