New York, NY — August 2025 — Genimex, a leader in end-to-end manufacturing with over 50 years of experience producing for brands globally, is proud to sponsor Layer Logic: Motor City, a national design competition celebrating emerging industrial design talent.
Organized by MakeLab in collaboration with IDSA, The Henry Ford, Teague, and other leading voices in design and innovation, the competition invites designers to create stools inspired by the spirit of the automotive world, from sleek lines and robust structures to the ingenuity that defines Detroit’s legacy as the Motor City.
Finalists will be announced later this month, with winners revealed during IDC 2025 in Detroit this September.
“Great manufacturing begins with great design. By supporting young and developing designers, we’re investing in the creativity that will shape tomorrow’s most successful products and brands.” said David Chitayat, CEO of Genimex.
As a sponsor, Genimex is proud to support initiatives that bridge the gap between industrial design and manufacturability. The company’s involvement reflects its broader mission to champion creative thinking, thoughtful execution, and long-term partnerships across the product lifecycle.
Winners of Layer Logic: Motor City will gain access to mentorship, industry connections, and high-profile exposure, including tours and engagement facilitated by The Henry Ford.
